Ryan Cameron

Ryan Cameron is a commercial, lead, and jazz trumpet player based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Born and raised in Halifax, he is a graduate of the University of Toronto’s Bachelor of Music program.
Ryan spent 13 years playing lead trumpet with countless cruise ship orchestras as well as five years serving as Musical Director. As a freelance musician, he has had the opportunity to perform with Maria Schneider, Tim Hagans, Salsa Picante and Asia Nugruv, as well as performing at Neptune Threatre for several productions.  Ryan has studied with Jim Lewis, John MacLeod, Chase Sanborn, Wayne Bergeron, RIck Waychesko, Charles Garrett and Wayne Baker. As an educator, Ryan frequently works with Nova Scotia Honor Jazz, Los Primos and the NSHJ Funk Unit. Ryan is always excited to be a part of the Back Alley Big Band.
