Tim Elson

Tim has had a talent for trumpet since the age of 13.  In 1996 he completed his Bachelor of Music specializing in trumpet performance from the University of Lethbridge. Shortly after graduation, he joined the Canadian Forces and earned a position with the Stadacona Band of the Royal Canadian Navy, where he is currently serving. During his military service, Tim was awarded the Queen’s Diamond and the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee medals. Tim has spent over 25 years performing around Nova Scotia with various groups including Neptune Theatre, Symphony Nova Scotia, Salsa Picante, the Roving Steins, Mike Cowie’s Big Night Out Band,  and the Back Alley Big Band. In addition to performing, Tim has also taught trumpet at the NSCC music program and at Long and McQuade.
