Peter Bull

Bass

Peter Bull is a Halifax based freelance bass player and producer. Peter Grew up in Nova Scotia attending the Acadia Summer Jazz Camps as well as Nova Scotia Honour Jazz. He studied Music at St. Francis Xavier University and the Manhattan School of Music.
Following his formal education, Peter moved back to Canada from New York City, settling in Toronto. For the next seven years he played extensively in the experimental jazz scene and began branching into other areas of music. In Toronto, Peter found success playing the music of Iran, touring nationally and internationally with local and foreign acts including, Darya Dadvar, Chartaar, Reza Yazdani, and others. He also led a band called Dog Leg Dilemma, which performed at the Sudbury Jazz Festival and released an album. During this same period he began developing his skills as a recording engineer and producer, opening his own studio, Bull Cave Audio, in 2019.
In recent years, Peter has relocated to Halifax to put down roots. Peter’s thirst for new music, collaborations and experiences is constantly leading him in new artistic directions. He can be heard with such groups as, Tevon Tynes and The Superstatics, Son Latino, Mohamed Sahraei, The Paul Baker Trio, Nick & Yonelis, and Chudi Harris to name a few.
