Danny Martin

Danny has been playing trombone since the age of ten thanks to the Halifax public schools system. He started playing professionally at 14 recording and performing in Halifax.
In the late 70’s he moved to Edmonton to perform and tour with Big Miller returning to Nova Scotia in 1980 to play with Frank MacKay & Company. In 1985 he joined the Canadian Armed Forces and spent 25 years with The Stadacona Band.
During that time he continued to free-lance leading his own group Salsa Picante and playing as a sideman with many acts such as The Spinners, David Clayton Thomas, Gino Vannelli and many more. He is presently retired from the Forces leads his own Oktoberfest group “The Roving Steins” (a.k.a. The Bavarian Bad Boys) and plays with local groups The Hopping Penguins, Rasta Gumbo and of course “The Back Alley Big Band”
